Residents living along Lake Ontario from Hamilton to Niagara-on-the-Lake are being urged to exercise caution near the lakefront.
Gusty winds in the forecast for the next couple of days has the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority warning of storm surges and increased wave action that could cause further erosion of the shoreline.
However, the NPCA is reporting record high water levels in the lake have decreased.
The lake is down 24 centimers since it reached peak levels on May 29th.
The NPCA is continuing to monitor conditions and will issue further messages as required.
Information on the Flood Status in the watershed and water levels within the streams can be found on the NPCA’s website
