The Ontario government has released its survey regarding regional government reform.
At an event last week, Premier Doug Ford said Niagara has too many politicians, but would not comment on amalgamation.
Between the upper and lower levels of government in Niagara, there are a combined 125 elected municipal councillors, regional councillors, and mayors.
The review covers Ontario’s 8 regional municipalities: Durham, Halton, Muskoka District, Niagara, Oxford County, Peel, Waterloo, York, Simcoe County, and their lower-tier municipalities.
The questionnaire consists of 17 questions and is open to the public until April 23, 2019.
