There are concerns being raised over the PC government's plans to get rid of front licence plates in Ontario.
The province is pondering the move for fiscal reasons, but the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police is against it..
Executive Director, Jeff McGuire tells CKTB they don't believe the financial savings of getting rid of the plates outweighs the ability of officers to identify suspect vehicles.
He says by removing the front plates you lower the chance of catching a vehicle wanted in a crime by 50%.
Ontario is one of the last provinces to remove the front plates.
The government has also announced that "yours to discover" will be replaced on Ontario plates.
We should know what it will be replaced with Thursday when the PC Doug Ford government unveils its budget.
