Some good news if you walk over the Burgoyne Bridge in St.Catharines.
Regional officials now say pedestrians will still be able to cross the bridge during a full 10-day closure starting Thursday.
The closure is scheduled to occur from Dec. 8 to Dec. 18, 2016.
During this time the bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic.
Vehicle traffic will be detoured via Regional Road 81 (St Paul Street), Louth Street, Regional Road 77 (Fourth Avenue), and Ontario Street during the closure.
The sidewalk on the west side of the bridge will remain open for pedestrian access for the duration of the closure.
These closures are required in order to complete installation of the cable supports and suspend the bridge from the structural arch.
