Signs have been posted in downtown St. Catharines protesting an appearance by comedian Jeff Dunham at the Meridian Centre.
Earlier this summer, the Meridian Centre announced that Jeff Dunham would be bringing his popular puppet show to St. Catharines on October 20th.
Some of Dunham's most famous puppets include the old man Walter, and Achmed the Dead Terrorist.
The signs read "Jeff Dunham Go Home. St. Catharines doesn't need a racist, anti-semitic, misogynistic & homophobic puppet show. What we do need is more help for the populations of people your ignorance humiliates and shames".
A representative from the Meridian Centre tells 610CKTB that they have not heard one allegation against Dunham, and don't feel comfortable commenting on something they haven't heard themselves.
