The federal N-D-P leadership race has grown to five official candidates with the entry of an Ontario politician.
Should Jagmeet Singh win the race to replace outgoing federal New Democrat leader Tom Mulcair, he would be the first non-Caucasian leader of a major federal party.
Singh is Ontario's deputy N-D-P leader, a Toronto-area M-P-P and a criminal defence lawyer.
He says the major issues facing Canada are inequality, climate change, Indigenous reconciliation and electoral reform.
