A Niagara Regional police officer has been cleared of any wrongdoing in an incident involving a teen.
The province's police watchdog making the decision after investigating an incident that happened March 17th of last year, involving the officer and a 16 year old boy, who was arrested for allegedly being drunk and trespassing inside the Pen Centre.
The Special Investigation's Unit says the officer was called to the mall after the boy refused to leave the food court.
While he was being escorted to the mall's security office, the teen tried to pull away twice and the officer pushed him to the ground and handcuffed him.
The SIU says the boy continued to resist and threw his shoulder against a sign on a wall and may have hit his head.
Two days later, the boy went to hospital and was diagnosed with a concussion.
The SIU says the force used by the officer was within the limits of the law.
