The Special Investigations Unit has cleared the Niagara Regional Police of any wrongdoing during an arrest at a Niagara Falls motel.
The arrest happened earlier this year on May 20th when officers responded to complaints regarding a 49 year old resident of a Lundy's Lane motel.
Officers were initially able to leave the scene after convincing the man to return to his room, but they were called back shortly after when the man left his room and became threatening.
A struggle ensued during the arrest.
SIU investigators say the man fell during the arrest and was taken to hospital where he was diagnosed with a fractured ankle.
