A six time Olympic medalist is going to help Niagara College's class of 2020 celebrate their accomplishments.
Clara Hughes will be the special guest speaker during the virtual convocation ceremonies happening June 15th - 19th.
The mental health advocate and spokesperson for Bell Let's Talk will also be receiving an honourary diploma in Health Studies.
In 2014 she completed the monumental feat called 'Clara's Big Ride' after cycling through every province and territory in 110 days, logging more than 11,000 km to raise awareness for mental health.
The ceremonies will be livestreamed from the Welland campus at 10 a.m and 2 p.m. daily throughout convocation week.
The virtual celebrations will include speeches, student awards, and name call-outs.
Graduates and professors will also be able to connect in real-time through Zoom sessions held alongside the ceremonies.
