Another arrest has been made in a historic sexual abuse case in Port Colborne that dates back 20 years.
On Monday police arrested 56 year old Christopher Brown of Port Colborne. He has been charged with sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a person with a disability, and human trafficking.
Police began an investigation into allegations of sexual abuse after a community services worker brought forward concerns.
With this latest arrest, five men and one woman are facing charges.
On June 25th police laid charges against a 55 year old man from Port Colborne. The 55 year old man's name is being withheld to protect the identity of the alleged victims. The charges include:
- six counts of sexual assault
- four counts of sexual interference
- four counts of sexual exploitation
- four counts of invitation to sexual touching
- sexual exploitation of a person with a disability
- three counts of incest
- four counts of corrupting children
- four counts of failing to provide the necessaries of life
- four counts of forcible confinement
- assault with a weapon
- four counts of assault
- uttering death threats
A second man, 52 year old Gerald 'Butchy' Fleming, was arrested and charged on June 28th. He is facing charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
50 year old William Vorstenbosh of Port Colborne was arrested on July 17th. He faces charges of sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
70 year old Shane Ayres of Port Colborne was arrested on July 19th and charged with two counts of sexual assault. Ayres was re-arrested on July 24th and slapped with the additional charges of sexual assault, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual interference.
44 year old Susan Leitch of Renfrew was arrested on July 24th and is facing a charge of sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
