Sicard RV is Niagara’s latest certified living wage employer.
The Niagara Poverty Reduction Network announcing the Smithville company is the latest company to earn the distinction.
Sicard's is a family-owned and operated business which has been in business for over 50 years.
With 98 full time and four part time staff, Sicard RV has become a staple in the RV industry.
“Becoming a living wage employer was an easy decision for us. We recognized all the benefits that it provided to not only our employees but also to our community. Growing a business in a small town has its own challenges, but Smithville Ontario, is our home and we want to continue to be part of its growth. A living wage reflects what earners need to be paid based on the actual costs of living and being included in the community.
The 2018 living wage for Niagara region has been calculated to be $17.99/hour.
