South Niagara is under a snow squall warning.
Environment Canada says the multi-day lake-effect snow squall event starts tonight with up to 25 cm expected overnight, Sunday - ending Monday.
Officials say heavy snowfall may significantly reduce visibility at times with strong winds reaching up to 100 km/hr.
"Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations."
Meantime, Fort Erie's Fire Chief is asking residents to stay off the roads and not to plan unnecessary travel.
Mark Schmitt says lake effect snow is going to shift north overnight coating the roads again.
Fort Erie Roads Crews are out salting but travel still remains very dangerous.
The following road closures in place:
1. Point Abino Road south of Erie - Flooding / Debris
2. Thunder Bay - Shirley to Windmill - Flooding
3. Lakeshore Road / Niagara River Parkway - Dominion Road to Queen Street

The game, originally scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. at Highmark Stadium, has been moved to Monday at 4:30 p.m.
Meantime, the north-end of Niagara is just under a wind warning with just 5 cm of snow expected tonight.
