When the Snowbirds fly over Niagara today, one pilot will be looking back on his childhood home.
Snowbird Blake McNaughton grew up in St. Catharines at the bottom of Brock Hill before moving to Fonthill for highschool.
He says he's honoured to come back to an area where his dreams first took flight.
"I was very lucky. From an early age I was in 128 Thorold Air Cadets Squadron and I knew that I wanted to be in one of those red and white jets that you're going to see over Niagara today, and that's been the goal for a very, very long time."
McNaughton says being a part of the high flying precision team is a huge responsibility, but the team is incredibly tight knit.
"That's one of the major things about our teams is the trust between our pilots, and trust between the pilots - and the technicians and that's why we exemplify and personify the professionalism that is rampant throughout the Canadian Forces in our own little unit. You really need to trust the people around you when you're doing acrobatics at 300 knots and 300 feet."
The Snowbirds will fly out of the Niagara District Airport this afternoon performing a 45 minute show.
The show is set to get underway around 4 o'clock.
A donation of five dollars will allow spectators to watch from the airport grounds.
Parking at the airport on Niagara Stone Road will be on a first come first serve basis.
Carlton Road will be closed to traffic and pedestrians tomorrow from 3:30 to 5:00.
