The Snowbirds are coming to Fort Erie.
On Wednesday September 19th, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds will be coming to Fort Erie to perform an aerial display over the Town.
The show will begin at 4:30 pm and will take place over Lake Erie at the Niagara River.
During the show, the pilots will fly at speeds from 100 to 320 knots, performing different formations and maneuvers, all while flying as close as four feet from one another.
Each year, the Snowbirds perform approximately 60 shows at 40 different locations throughout North America between May and October.
The performances showcase the precision and skill of the serving members of the Canadian Forces. “We are extremely thrilled that the Snowbirds have chosen Fort Erie as one of the stops in their 2018 North American tour. We’ve had our share of aerial shows in the past but never the Snowbirds. This is very exciting, not only for Fort Erie but also for all of Niagara,” said Mayor Wayne Redekop.
A viewing location will be set-up for community members at Lakeshore Road between Dominion Road and Beatrice Street. For safety reasons, this section of Lakeshore Road will also be closed to vehicles starting at 12 p.m. until approximately 1 hour after the end of the show.
