You may have noticed that work to clean up the old GM property in St. Catharines is underway.
The city is headed to court next month with the current landowners over alleged fire code and safety violations at the Ontario Street property.
Councillor Karrie Porter tells CKTB it appears Bayshore is trying to clean up some of the property, and city crews are ensuring fencing around the property is in good shape.
Recent work at the property follows councils' decision last month to put an action plan in place to help secure and clean up the site.
Mayor Walter Sendzik has requested a meeting with the Environment Minister, and the city will be hiring a legal expert.
The 54 acre parcel of land is still up for sale.
