Ontario's finance minister says he's not concerned about a report from the Financial Accountability Office saying Liberal deficit figures are way off.
The F-A-O says the province's deficit will jump to almost 12-billion dollars this year due to higher spending in the government's 2018 budget and weak revenue gains.
N-D-P finance critic John Vanthof says the Financial Accountability Office has made clear that both the Liberals and Conservatives will depend on deep cuts to balance the budget after the June election.
Finance Minister Charles Sousa says his financial projections incorporate restrained estimates and he isn't concerned the F-A-O's warnings will come to pass.
But Vanthof says the Liberals and Conservatives are pushing the same plan and will leave future generations paying off over 40 billion dollars in unnecessary debt.
