A high wind warning is in effect for South Niagara.
Winds gusting up to 90 km/h will start this evening
The winds are part of a sharp arctic cold front that is headed our way.
Meantime all of Niagara remains under a special weather statement.
Rain and thunderstorms will move out of the area later this morning, but after a break of a few hours, another round of showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected this afternoon as a sharp cold front moves in from the west.
The weather office says motorists should be prepared to encounter water pooled on roadways today.
Winds will gust to 70 to 80 km/h in areas of North Niagara.
