A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Niagara.

A Special Weather Statement has been issued for Niagara.

Environment Canada saying that 30-50 mm of rain is possible this afternoon and evening.

Forecasters saying an area of showers and thunderstorms affecting the area this afternoon is moving east, but will be followed by another round of thunderstorms with heavy downpours early this evening.

Rainfall from these thunderstorms combined with the rain that fell earlier today could result in total amounts between 30 and 50 mm locally.
