The chair of the Niagara Parks Commission says they don't see the latest spike in local COVID-19 cases as a concern.
Speaking to CKTB's Niagara in the Morning, NPC Chairwoman Sandie Bellows says the safety protocols they have in place are working.
We asked Bellows how she responds to people in the community who ask why they are encouraging visitors to the region during a global pandemic.
"Could someone come down and spread the virus to people, absolutely, but are we going to stay closed a year or two years and left life pass us by?" she said.
Bellows says the 21 new cases announced in Niagara on Tuesday are not worrisome.
"We don't see it as concern, of course we are always listening, but we spent so much time and energy and effort on our safety protocols" Bellows continued.
Their safety protocols include mandatory masks, temperature screening and ambassadors who educate those that don't follow physical distancing guidelines.
