A chapel in St. Catharines is drawing international support in a bid to preserve an important part of our history.
Salem Chapel BME Church is hoping to raise at least $100,000 for emergency repairs.
The church is known as the place Harriet Tubman once worshiped at years ago.
For around four months now, organizers have been collecting donations through a Go Fund Me Page, and thanks to some international exposure they now sit at about one third of the goal.
Trustees say despite being a designated National Historic Site, the church receives little to no government funding and is maintained by the dwindling congregation.
