St. Catharines council cracking down on brewfing and out of control parties

City councillors saying yes to a new nuisance party bylaw that includes a ban on brewfing.

The bylaw also gives the city the right to fine anyone who takes part in a social gathering that results in disorderly conduct, public drunkenness, littering, property damage, fights, unreasonable noise, open burning or fireworks and blocks the flow of pedestrians or traffic .

The city is still waiting to hear from the courts on how much the fine will be, but council has proposed a $300 penalty.
