St. Catharines city council going behind closed doors to discuss the Niagara IceDogs lease agreement with the Meridian Centre.
The centre's General Manager Ken Noakes was at council last night to give councillors an update on the last year at the sports facility.
During his presentation, Councillor Mat Siscoe asked Noakes about the relationship with the IceDogs.
Noakes replying its a relationship that needs work.
That's when council went behind closed doors to discuss details of the lease agreement.
Late last month the city decided to hire an independent third party firm to review outstanding issues between the Niagara Icedogs and the operators of the Meridian Centre.
This after the team's owners Bill and Denise Burke met with Mayor Walter Sendzik, regarding their decision to cancel a $1 million donation, to the city.
The mayor says during the meeting the Burke's expressed their concerns about the licensing agreement they have with the arena.
