St. Catharines is showing their support for a PEI company that's looking to set up a ferry service between the Garden City and Toronto.
Redrock Power Systems have already received a federal grant to look into the feasibility of the project and St. Catharines Councillor Kevin Townsend says the city is fully on board.
Townsend joined CKTB on Monday and explained that council sent a letter of support to the PEI company expressing St. Catharines' interest in the project as well as their desire to be the spot where the ferry is launched.
Townsend stressed the importance of picking the right location to house this project, and even floated the idea that Port Dalhousie would be a great candidate.
Townsend says he has spoken with Redrock Power Systems' CEO and believes wholeheartedly this cross-lake ferry is something that can work.
