St. Catharines council is giving the green light to plans for a splash pad at the Port Weller Community centre.
Since May of 2016 Council has been trying to install splash pads in all six wards - Merriton and Port Dalhousie are the only two wards without firm plans for a splash pad at this point.
Staff will start working on obtaining design and building plans.
The new Port Weller splash pad is expected to be completed in time for Canada Day next year and should cost less than $400,000.
