A few dozen people demonstrated outside St. Catharines city hall last night demanding council vote to support a call for a forensic audit of the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
And it appears their voices were heard, councillors threw their support behind a motion asking the province to conduct an immediate audit and investigation into the authority.
The protestors say they want the Ministry of Natural Resources to audit NPCA hiring practises and the awarding of contracts.
Welland MPP Cindy Forster who has joined the chorus of calls for the audit addressed St. Catharines council.
Forster says she has been getting calls about the authority since 2013.
Regional council voted down a motion requesting the province audit the NPCA in May.
