St. Catharines council will debate another motion tonight on the controversy surrounding the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority.
The motion will ask council to endorse a Pelham council motion calling for all NPCA board members to be selected directly by area municipal councils from their local residents.
Qualified residents would need to have expertise in environmental and conservation issues.
The NPCA has been under fire over allegations of questionable hiring practises and land purchases.
After months of demands from the public and local city councils, the agencies' board finally agreed, last month, to hire an outside firm to conduct a full audit of its operations.
