A St. Catharines councillor admits its a topic some people will be uncomfortable talking about, but Greg Miller will make a push tonight for a pilot project to offer free feminine hygiene products at city run facilities.
Miller says anytime you're trying to change a norm, certainly what's available in a public space in a bathroom, you will get a little push back.
But he adds the move is overdue and necessary.
Miller cites a recent study by Plan Canada International indicating one-third of women under 25 struggle to afford the necessary products.
