St. Catharines councillors meet in special session tomorrow night to vote on a proposal to create a one transit system in Niagara.
Mayor Walter Sendzik says its a first step in merging the transit systems of Niagara Falls, Welland, St. Catharines and the region.
Sendzik says the vote will move the plan forward, past the pilot project stage and will see some of his councillors appointed to a committee that will look at the governance model for a single transit system.
Sendzik says he hopes a final vote will be held on the plan within the next six months.
Niagara Falls and Welland will also meet in the coming weeks in special session to debate the proposal.
Feedback surveys for those who want to weigh in on the issue are available on each of the cities websites.
