St. Catharines council is expected to rubber stamp the final approval needed to begin work on a merger of four local transit systems.
Council will be asked to approve a by-law giving the Niagara Region authority to establish, operate and maintain an inter-municipal passenger transportation system for the Niagara Region.
The move comes after St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, Welland and the Region all approved a plan to begin work on creating a regionally integrated transit system.
