Two down, two more to go in a plan to merge several local transit agencies into one.
Last night, St. Catharines council met in special session and approved the plan to merge its transit agency with Niagara Falls, Welland and Regional transit.
Niagara Falls council will vote on the plan next Tuesday and then the region is expected to follow suit.
Once the approvals are in place, municipal officials will come up with a governance model to determine how the new transit agency will be funded and operated.
