A St.Catharines city Councillor is speaking out following the news of P-C Leader Patrick Brown's resignation amid sexual misconduct allegations.
Sandie Bellows, the representative for the Grantham Ward says she is shocked and deeply saddened by the news.
Bellows a rape survivor, says as a woman with lived experience it is very important to create opportunities for women and men to speak out and be heard.
She says through the media and news stories, people are starting to understand the impacts of harassment and sexual misconduct.
Bellows says she will always stand and will continue to stand for zero tolerance for this type of behaviour.
It was back in January of 1990 Bellows was the victim of a vicious abduction, rape and attempted murder.
Bellows will share more of her opinion on the Brown case, and her story when she joins CKTB's Larry Fedourk at 5:15 today.
