Natasha Gordon-Jones came to Canada after her husband was murdered in Jamaica back in 2011.
The family is now facing potential deportation this month.
Natasha said the reality is if she goes home, she might live one day but be dead the next.
She fled Jamaica with her children after her husband was murdered for refusing to pay extortion to a local gang and the remaining family members were threatened.
Natasha says in Jamaica, they owned a business and were successful - they only fled to Canada because she feared for her family.
Since coming to Canada, Gordon-Jones has worked as a debt collector and has been fighting deportation back to Jamaica.
The family has been overwhelmed by the support they have received since her son revealed their deportation fight to his Grade 12 English class at Holy Cross.
The 17 year old was recently accepted to Brock University and Carleton to study engineering.
When asked by CKTB, St. Catharines MP Chris Bittle said he was aware and working on the case with the Minister of Immigration.
At this point, the family of four is scheduled to be deported on February 24 by Canada Border Service Agency.
