The City of St. Catharines will be giving away free trees this fall.
Residents can receive a free tree to plant in their own property at the Free Tree Giveaway, Saturday, Oct. 20 at the Seymour-Hannah Sports and Entertainment Centre parking lot from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., or until supplies run out.
There will be 500 trees available, and they will be distributed in three-gallon pots and will be about three feet tall.
Four different types of trees will be available: American Beech, Eastern Redbud, Sugar Maple, and Swamp White Oak.
Forestry experts will be there to answer any questions.
More information about the tree species is available at www.stcatharines.ca/FreeTrees.
