Automakers are preparing to welcome workers back on the job next week.
Unifor Local 199 Chairperson Tim McKinnon says the reopening of the GM plant Monday morning will be a slow one.
He says they will start with one shift on the V6 product line.
McKinnon adding GM has been working to make sure employees stay safe.
When workers arrive they will have their temperatures checked, there will be hand sanitizing stations, and each will be given a protective mask.
He says workers will be spaced out and separated by plexiglass shields wherever possible.
Workers at the Toyota plant in Cambridge return to work on Tuesday.
