The pools at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre won't be opening for the rest of the summer vacation.
The city sending out a release saying they'll stay closed for the rest of July and August while repair options are reviewed by City staff.
An exact date for when the pools will re-open is still not known.
The pools shut down July 4th after some material from the lighting fixtures and ceiling panels fell onto the pool deck.
Luckily no one was hurt when it happened.
To compensate for the closure, an additional 107 hours of weekly length swimming, aquafit and leisure swimming have been added at the City’s outdoor pools to provide residents with extended opportunities for aquatic recreation.
