A St.Catharines man and a school teacher from Kitchener are facing child pornography charges.
The Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit started an investigation into the exploitation of children on the Internet after information was received from the Hamilton Police Service.
In early September, a search warrant was executed in St. Catharines.
An adult man from St. Catharines was arrested and charged with making agreement or arrangement to commit sexual interference and possession of child pornography.
The man's name is not being released as the investigation continues.
As a result of the St.Catharines search warrant an additional suspect involved in the exploitation of children on the Internet was identified.
On September 16th, in Hamilton, 48 year old Geoffrey BURNET of Kitchener was arrested by members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation Unit.
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service and the Hamilton Police Service assisted with the arrest.
Niagara Regional Police Service have charged Burnet with making child pornography and transmit child pornography.
On September 20th, the Hamilton Police Service arrested and charged Burnet with the following additional offences: Sexual Assault, Sexual Interference and Invitation to Sexual Touching.
Burnet has been identified as a School Teacher who has been previously employed in the regions of Hamilton, Guelph, and Toronto.
Investigators believe that there may be more victims who have had contact with him.
