A man from St. Catharines will be leading the charge to break the Guinness World Record for the world's largest calzone.
Known as the 'Pizza Dude', Roberto Vergalito will be working with five pizzerias to build the mammoth creation during PizzaFest in Vaughan this Sunday.
"We're probably going to go for as long as we possibly can, we're looking at 60 - 70 ft long by 2 and a half feet wide."
The dough includes 309 pounds of flour, 12 ounces of dry yeast, two pounds of salt, sugar, and olive oil.
The stuffing includes 1,200 ounces of tomato sauce, 44 pounds of dry cured pepperoni, and 132 pounds of cheese.
Once the record attempt at 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon wraps up, the calzone will be eaten on site with the leftovers donated to local shelters.
