A St. Catharines man may have just run his way into the Guinness Book of World Records, all while dressed as a grape.
Rob Lapensee says he crossed the line at the Niagara Falls International Marathon more than one minute faster than the previous record holder for 'fastest half marathon while dressed as fruit' - Lapensee's time comes in at 1:19:13 while the current record holder, Thomas Priest from the UK, finished his run in 1:20:37.
Lapensee says it was a difficult run, but an exhilarating experience.
"I was looking at the kilometre markers as I was coming along and I was starting to feel a little concerned - I had all these people waiting for me at the finish line and I wanted to make sure I put on a show for them and break the record."
All that's left now is to submit the evidence and wait for the official verdict. Lapensee says he expects to wait at least 8 weeks before hearing back from the Guinness Book of World Records.
