If nothing else a St. Catharines man should get a gold star for commitment.
A court has sentenced 56 year old Christopher Sagajllo to time served for swimming the Detroit River into the U.S.
The former British citizen says he just wanted to make sure some of his handmade books were delivered before Christmas.
Sagajillo explains he was turned away at the Niagara Falls border and that's when he drove to Windsor, put on a wetsuit and swam across the Detroit River with books in tow.
When he got to shore on Zug Island, south of Detroit, he was promptly arrested.
