A 74 year old St. Catharines man is stuck in the Czech Republic after a medical emergency.
Gord Kidder was visiting Prague to honour the role his uncle played in the Great Escape from World War II.
While there, lifelong friend Bill Herz says tragedy struck.
"The day before he was returning he suffered a cerebral hemorrhage, and was hospitalized, had two operations, and has since been in a medically induced coma in a hospital in Prague."
Herz says they are facing steep medical costs. "In order to get him home, the costs for the hospital which are $37,000 to date and the cost for an air ambulance which is $69,000, has to be paid up front."
Now the push in on to raise more than $100,000 through a GoFundMe account to bring Kidder home.
