It was under a mainly sunny sky this morning that hundreds of residents gathered at the St.Catharines Cenotaph to remember.
The annual Remembrance Day ceremony started with the National Anthems played by the Lincoln and Welland Regiment Band.
Opening remarks were made by Lloyd Cull, President of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24.
Mayor Walter Sendzik read a war time letter to the crowd.
Sendzik also paid tribute to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, which is celebrating its 90th anniversary.
Several other ceremonies were held across Niagara.
