A St. Catharines councillor will be pushing for free feminine hygiene products at city run facilities.
Councillor Greg Miller will bring forward a motion to start a pilot project offering pads and tampons for free during Monday's meeting.
Miller writes, 'Hamilton recently rejected a similar motion; I'm hopeful we'll be a bit more comfortable in St. Catharines.'
His motion also notes a recent study by Plan Canada International indicating one-third of women under 25 struggle to afford the necessary products.
Recently the City of London agreed to start stocking free menstrual products.
