A St. Catharines nurse could be permanently stripped of his licence after being found guilty of several counts of assault.
The College of Nurses of Ontario has published an official notice of hearing for David Little. In January of this year Little was found guilty of six counts of assault and sentenced to 30 days in jail and two years' probation by the Ontario Court of Justice.
These assaults occurred throughout the month of December in 2015, but the College of Nurses has not disclosed where these assaults took place to protect the identity of the victims involved.
In the notice of hearing the College claims Little exhibited aggressive behaviour including punching a client in the face, pulling off a client's pants and throwing her soiled adult guard on the ground next to a garbage pail before demanding she pick it up, stepping on clients' hands, grabbing them roughly, and even hitting one client in the face with a hairbrush.
According to the records listed on the College's website Little was a Registered Practical Nurse from April 2005 until the College suspended him for non-payment in February of 2013, at which point he resigned. He was registered as a RN from April 2005 until he was sentenced in February of this year.
The hearing will take place in Toronto on August 23 and 24th
It was just last month the college revoked the license of Elizabeth Wettlaufer, the Woodstock nurse who killed eight clients in her care.
The college was criticized for failing to revoke her license in 2014 when Caressant Care in Woodstock notified them Wettlaufer was fired for making a medication error that put a patient at risk.
