After months of delay, Glen Walker, executive director of Positive Living Niagara, says if all goes as planned, the site should open in December.
Walker tells The Standard there are still a few elements to fall into place following a review of the site`s plan was done by the provincial government.
The opioid overdose prevention site was approved by the former Liberal government. However, the plan was put on hold by the new PC government.
The Tories wanted to review the effectiveness of these sites which is said must include a focus on treatment and rehabiltation.
Walker says most sites in the province were offering something very similar to what the government wants.
