The Overdose Prevention Site in St. Catharines will be open tomorrow.
On Friday, Positive Living Niagara got word the Ford government had approved their application to remain open for a full year.
Manager of the StreetWorks Program Talia Storm explains what will happen as the site transitions to a more permanent location.
"We're thinking it will be a three to four week turnaround as to when we're in the new space. So we'll continue to operate out of our current space in the interim so there won't be a gap in service."
At this point, we do not know where the new site will be.
Storm tells CKTB's Matt Holmes Niagara's site has reversed around 90 overdoses.
However, elsewhere in the province, some sites have been told to start winding down operations, while a few applications are still under review.
The government announced approval for 15 of 21 overdose prevention sites applications on Friday.
The sites will now be known as "Consumption and Treatment Services."
