The Garden City is submitting a bid to host the 2024 World Rowing Championships.
It will be in partnership with St. Catharines World Rowing.
If successful, the city would host the Senior, Under 23, and Junior World Rowing Championships at the Henley Rowing Course in Port Dalhousie.
Investments have already been made to upgrade the rowing centre ahead of the 2021 Canada Summer Games, that include a new 13,000 sq. ft. training facility.
According to FISA, the event in August of 2024 would attract about 2,800 participants.
The bid was submitted in June, while the winning bd expected to be announced in September.
