After some starts and stops, the overdose prevention site is now officially open in St. Catharines.
Plans for the site were put on hold in September pending a review by Ontario's health minister.
The go ahead from the government came last month and the doors opened on Monday.
Glenn Walker of Positive Living Niagara tells CKTB News they're seeing more and more people everyday.
Walker says it 's more than a just a place to do drugs.
People will be helped if they have housing issues, need food or have medical issues.
Walker says they've been meeting with community partners like Canadian Mental Health and the hospitals to provide outreach at the site.
