A 70 year old St. Catharines man is facing a charge in connection with a gas leak in the south end of the city.
Police, fire and EMS were called out to a home on Green Maple Drive yesterday just before 5:00, for a gas leak.
Police discovered a natural gas line located inside the home had been deliberately cut, causing gas to be released in the neighbourhood.
Residents of nearby houses were evacuated until the fire department was able to shut off the gas supply to the house.
A short while later residents were allowed to return home.
Police have charged Thomas McMillan with mischief endangering life.
