St. Catharines residents will have their say when it comes to recreational cannabis stores in the city.
During last night's council meeting, councillors voted to have city staff collect feedback from the public before the city decides whether to host a store or not.
The Ontario government is giving municipalities until January 22nd to decide if they would like to host a brick and mortar store or opt out.
Residents were already asked how they felt about recreational cannabis stores during the annual Telephone Town Hall - 57% of participants said they were against the idea.
Right now, all legal pot sales in the province go through the government's online shop.
