The City of St. Catharines unveiling design drawings for the Port Dalhousie Piers.
The drawings are based on the public’s request to have the piers restored to allow pedestrian access and boat mooring.
Residents can view the drawings at www.portpiers.com or by visiting the city's website.
The Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada will now commence an environmental review of the proposed detailed design for the restoration
of the piers and inner harbour structures.
The piers were closed in April 2015, following anengineering investigation that recommended closing the piers based on damage to their
substructure.
As a safety reminder to residents, additional sections of the east and west piers have been temporarily closed due to the record water levels in Lake Ontario.
Temporary fencing installed on April 28 and will remain in place for the foreseeable future.
